South Congress Avenue, or SoCo, is Austin's equivalent to SoHo, a conglomeration of funky shops, hip galleries, quirky restaurants and legendary music venues. Visitors will find everything from retro clothing to refurbished junque to live shows at the famed Continental Club in this not-to-be-missed part of town. Stop in for First Thursdays, when the shops, galleries and boutiques stay open late and the district comes alive with a street-party feel. Located south of Town Lake, SoCo stretches from the Congress Avenue Bridge to Oltorf Street, between Travis Heights and Bouldin Creek.
