Great food and (this bears repeating) a HUGE beer selection make the Draught House Pub & Brewery one of the best pubs in Austin. This place gets packed to the hilt with enthusiastic bar crawlers on the weekends, and for good reason. There's really nothing to dislike about a pub with this much beer selection, great service and excellent pizza.

A dive bar without being shabby, Barfly's offers visitors a local feel that is uniquely Austin, with cheap and strong drinks and rocking music on the jukebox. Very crowded as most good bars are, Barfly's is a good place to meet old friends or new people. The music can get loud, though the cheap drinks and great service definitely make up for it.
Fado Irish Pub

Great selection of beers and good service make Fado's a nice stop if you're in the mood for a pint or two. Part of a chain of Irish pubs throughout the country, the pub offers typical pub fare to eat including the typical fish and chips along with a full Irish breakfast. They offer trivia night on Mondays, which means they're very busy during that time and it may be difficult to find a good seat.

Hipness is the key at this lounge style bar in Austin. You won't find frat boys or sorority girls here, only the self-styled cool kids. The music is secondary to the atmosphere, which caters to the artist types, which all adds up to cheap drinks, great parking and a "right-at-home" feeling.
