The Inn at Pearl Street is truly a slice of heaven in downtown Austin. The amenities are warm and welcoming, as is the staff. There are several choices of rooms, each with their own historical theme. It is also very quiet and private. A great get away for a weekend or beautiful venue for a wedding.

I'm sorry to hear about the bride who had such a bad experience. It just makes no sense to me because my husband and I had a WONDERFUL stay at the Inn at Pearl Street. Everything was perfect and Jill was a delightful host. I would hate to have anyone pass up this charming little inn and its hospitality because of one bad review.

I made a reservation through BedandBreakfast.com for 2 nights at Austin's Inn at Pearl Street. I chose the hotel for it's proximity to the downtown Hilton where our friend's wedding reception was being held. Several minutes later an employee from Austin's Inn called to let me know that they would not honor the reservation. As a consolation prize she offered me another room at DOUBLE the price for the first night of my reservation and TRIPLE the price for Saturday night. When I balked at the sudden price change she gave me a very condescending explaination; "We are a five star hotel, we don't rent rooms for $50 a night. You should look at Motel 6 or Super 8." To that employee I have to say, you should honor your reservations, because you ARE a five star establishment. We ended up staying 15 miles out of town, but at an establishment with a KIND and COURTEOUS staff. I have traveled on six continents and my experience with the employee at Austin's Inn was about the worst I've had anywhere.

Although the location downtown is very convenient, and the setting makes for beautiful pictures, I strongly suggest you look somewhere else for your wedding/reception. Planning a wedding can be stressful enough, and attempting to work with the owner of Austin?s Inn at Pearl Street will definitely drive you over the edge! Unfortunately, this all fell apart the day of my wedding. The venue fee was to cover the use of the entire first floor of the Inn and Bride & Groom?s changing rooms, along with several other things. When I arrived a few hours before my wedding, I was told by my aunt (I was never approached by Inn staff), that the normal bathroom and the first floor of the Inn were now booked with other guests, and they were not available for my reception (they had mistakenly overbooked the Inn). So, my aunt was forced to give up her private bathroom for all of my guests to use! When she complained, Jill told her that there was no other option!!! When my pastor arrived, he needed to change. Of course, the groom?s changing room was booked as well and not available for my wedding! To top it off, several of my wedding guests (including my mother) said that Jill and her staff were rude to them throughout the evening. Services that were promised to me and that I paid for were not available on the day of the event. I was never informed of these mistakes by Inn staff ? I had to find out from family and friends. I was also never compensated for the lack of services. There are so many beautiful places in Austin to have a wedding. For the prices these venues charge, a person should not have to put up with rude, unprofessional staff. I would definitely look elsewhere.

I was just at a wedding at the Inn and witnessed the owner yelling at several people in the wedding party. She was rude to the guests of the wedding as well. I heard from the bride that the whole planning process with her was horrific. If you want your wedding to run smoothly, don't have it here.
