I went last week with a co-worker to this hole in the wall and had one of the worst dining out experiences of my life! The sarcastic and very SWEET waiter was rude the entire time and the food was just as unsavory. I had the hot chicken sandwich and could barely stand the smell of it. I know it had gone bad before they cooked it. They also provided me stale potato chips and charged me $5 for an AMSTEL LIGHT! My friend was also very unsatisfied with the costly and unsatisfying experience. I did not tip the waiter 18% because he was an absolute jerk the entire time but gave him far more than he deserved. He is lucky he got anything from me at all. Yet he had the audacity to give himself an unauthorized 20% tip on my card. I will straighten this out and report it to the BBB. Only two other customers came in during the time we were there, i wonder why!

I just went for my birthday last month, and we had a group of 25...they were so attentive the entire night. Our food came out quickly and it was delicious. Everybody enjoyed their order. Paying was so easy b.c they knew we were splitting the bill from the beginning...no hassle at all. Its a great location too! Right on 6th st, in the middle of all the bars and clubs. Overall it was a great experience...definitely recommend this place. :) p.s. had the italian cream cake, and it was delicioussss

We ended up here by chance, the resturant we were really going to was closed for repairs, so we ventured into the old pecan street cafe. We were greated warmly by the manager and seated right away. The food was amazing, no complaints what-so-ever. I don't suggests bringing kiddos, it's not the place for toddlers. The food was reasonable priced and the service was great. We will return soon for dinner, sans the kids.

We had an excellent lunch there! The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere wonderful! We are from out of town, but will eat there every chance we get to be in Austin!

My husband and I stopped by the Old Pecan Street for lunch and mentioned to our server that we were getting married in Austin (we met in school but are from different states) and he suggested we try their (delicious!) cake. We fell in love with the upstairs reception space and ended up getting married there right over sixth street. The manager was more than accommodating as we had to plan the whole thing from California- she met all of our needs and showed all of our out-of-town family how amazing Austin really is... We can't wait to come back to Texas and visit!
